history of beer is so far the most comprehensive critically processed world history of beer from the Neolithic to the 16th century, when the Middle Ages for beer production finally ended. In addition to notorious facts, the author brings mainly new facts and theories - for example, about the origin of beer, and corrects erroneous assumptions and mistakes traditional in Czech and world brewing literature. The book shows in a readable form the as yet unmentioned economic and cultural contexts associated with brewing. Global warming in the Neolithic has changed people's current dietary preferences - the first cereals have become far more affordable. The history of beer thus proves that the discovery of fermented cereal drink and bread became the main motive for the planned cultivation of grain and the birth of human civilization.
