Facts About Mao Feng Black Tea

The word “Keemun” derives from an archaic English spelling of Qimen County.

The Tea leaves used often grow alongside Huang Shan Mao Feng Green Tea.

The unique climatic conditions in Anhui contribute to its taste and profile.

Mao Feng won several awards throughout the 20th century.

The Story Behind Keemun Mao Feng Tea

A former Chinese civil servant called Yu Ganchen first produced Mao Feng in 1875. Months earlier, he had lost his job, something he considered shameful. Ganchen subsequently decided to become a Black Tea merchant to discover a new sense of fulfilment.

He travelled to Fujian Province to uncover the industry’s secrets before implementing them at his home in Qimen County. The rest is history.
How To Make Keemun Mao Feng Tea

Purchase a Tea Filter or Infuser for ease and convenience.

Add about five grams od the Keemun Tea into the accessory.

Place the item in a cup and pour in freshly boiled water at 100°C.

Allow it to infuse for 3-5 minutes for the finest flavour.

How to Serve: Milk, sugar, honey or lemon - you decide. Alternatively, serve black.

Tasting Notes: Embrace bold winey flavours with smoky hints and a sweet and fruity finish.
Does it Have Caffeine?

The energy-boosting capacity of caffeine is world-renowned. It is a stimulating constituent found in at least sixty plants, including Coffea (Coffee) and, of course, Camellia sinensis (Tea).

Our China Keemun Mao Feng Tea, in particular, contains about 45-mg of caffeine per 8-oz cup. This fact alone means that it will likely assist you in getting out of bed in the morning. What could be better?
