Squid are fascinating creatures. Though they don’t look it, squid are classed as molluscs like snails, clams, and mussels.
They are voracious ocean predators that capture their prey by ensnaring it in two long tentacles which they shoot out when a tasty morsel is nearby.
Squid swim backwards, are faster than any other ocean invertebrate, and can change colour to camouflage themselves or signal to a prospective mate.
Their bright, white flesh also happens to be extremely tasty.
